Software Completes Successful Deployment of its MACH7-iSTP
Gateway in Triton PCS Network .
Burlingame, California
teleSys
Software Inc. and Triton PCS Inc. announced the successful
deployment of teleSys Software's MACH7-iSTP Gateway,
which is used to interface with Triton PCS Wireless
Office Service customer premise equipment. The MACH7-iSTP
Gateway enables wireless networks to use all the SS7
functionality and stability while taking advantage
of efficiencies of an IP network.
Triton
PCS's Wireless Office Service provides subscribers
a single-phone, single-number system that serves as
a wireless-office phone on the enterprise telephone
network and automatically connects to the local-wireless
network outside the office. The system allows users
to make and receive calls using all the features of
their office phones - such as call transfer and forwarding,
and three way calling - with a wireless phone anywhere
in a building or campus environment. Calls within
range of the system incur no per-minute airtime change.
"A
critical factor in our decision to purchase the MACH7-iSTP
Gateway was its proven performance in the marketplace.
This capability enables our network to deliver the
full Wireless Office Service mobility management to
our customers," sand Glen Robinson, Triton PCS
Senior Vice President of Technology.
The MACH7-iSTP
Gateway brings wireless carriers one-step closer to
a fully converged network by bridging the traditional
wireless network and the IP world. The MACH7-iSTP
Gateway enables the Wireless Office Service Controllers
to communicate seamlessly with Home Location Registers
(HLRs) and Mobile Switching Centers (MSC), which provide
the status and control for wireless users.
“We
are very pleased that Triton PCS has recognized the
value in selecting the teleSys’ MACH7-i STP
Gateway,” says Bobby Bahl, chief executive officer
of teleSys Software. “ Triton PCS will benefit
from our systems' high availability, scalability and
compatibility, providing a robust and reliable platform
for the Wireless Office Service.”
