MACH7™ Plus and Solaris Deliver Superior Performance
Atlanta, GA
June 8, 1999
Today at SUPERCOMM ‘99, teleSys Software announced the availability of "MACH7 Plus", a high performance fully integrated SS7 solution for Sun Microsystems’ Netra(TM) t servers, which are PCI-based systems that use the Solaris(TM) Operating Environment. MACH7 Plus sets new standards for cost performance for deploying SS7 in Intelligent Networks (IN) by providing the highest density, highest performance support to the application and upper layers of the SS7 stack (MTP3, SCCP, ISUP, TUP, TCAP, IS41, GSM, and INAP). MACH7 Plus is based on Performance Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PTIX) new Channel7 MTP-2 solution. teleSys’ MACH7 Plus provides a PCI-based T1/E1 interface which is scaleable from 4 to 30 DSO’s for high density link support in the Solaris operating environment.
The Intelligent Network Elements that will benefit from this high density SS7 Signaling are Service Control Points (SCP), Intelligent Peripherals (IP), Signaling Gateways (SG), and Service Nodes (SN). Today’s Service Providers require MACH7 Plus to provide services like Call Center Application, Voice over IP (VoIP), Internet Call Routing, Wireless Office, Local Number Portability, 800 Translation and Virtual Private Networks (VPN).
teleSys’ MACH7 Plus will be made available on Sun Microsystems’ Netra t 1100 and 1125 carrier-grade servers. These NEBS-certified servers run the same open, stable Solaris (SPARC™ Platform Edition) Operating Environment that is frequently used in the telecommunications industry. Thus, providers can develop applications and services on any Sun(TM) workstation or server and deploy them on Netra carrier-grade servers without modification.
"The new processing capacity provided by MACH7 Plus enables our telecommunications customers to expand the use of our Netra telco servers for high transaction applications. We are pleased to have teleSys Software as an ally to support our growth in the rapidly expanding Telco Market," said Neil Knox, Vice President and General Manager, Network Systems Group, Sun Microsystems.
"MACH7 Plus will bring the kind of cost performance our customers have demanded for the Next-Generation Intelligent Network Applications", says Manu Bahl, CEO/CTO of teleSys Software. "MACH7 Plus provides equipment and service providers with a scalable and flexible high density SS7 solution," states John Grana, vice president and general manager of Performance Technologies’ Controller Products Group. "We are pleased they have chosen Channel7 to enable such a capable product."
